Faith Filled Friday: Wrong Day – Again!

June 12, 2021

By Connie Terpack June 12, 2021

Memory is a terrible thing to waste. Yet as we get older our past is easier to remember than the present. My weekend schedule is busy – Friday is Bible study, Saturday is breakfast with friends and Sunday is church. Not hard to remember you would think. Yet how many times have I missed doing the Faith Filled Friday blog?

This morning one of my friends was late for our breakfast get-together. She had called me yesterday to make sure of the time, so I figured she forgot. We decided she had either the time or place wrong since we rotate around to different restaurants and vary the time. It took a couple tries to get hold of her by phone. It turns out she thought today was Sunday. She lived close and arrived in a few minutes.

My excuse for Friday is I often get the day wrong, even though I know I have Bible study on Friday! I still think I have to post my blog later, which would actually be Saturday.

Have I confused you yet?

There are lots of Bible verses related to time in one way or another. I think time is important to God, but I also believe He has a sense of humor about it.

Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners? Song of Solomon 6:10

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. Psalm 90:4

Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain? Psalm 89:47

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. Psalm 56:3

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. Psalm 41:1

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Psalm 5:3

Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out. Job 36:26

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1. You might want to read the rest of the chapter since most of it is about time.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 2 Peter 3:8

Blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Revelation 1:3

This is the day which the Lord hath made: we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
