Whenever we have troubles or sorrows we seek God. There are plenty of times we should also spend time with him because we want to praise his name or thank him for something good.

Here are a few verses that remind us of both.

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. Psalm 18:30

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalm 34:8

Make a joyful noise unto God all ye lands: Sing forth the honor of his name; make his praise glorious. Psalm 66:1,2

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Psalm 91:4

O give thanks unto the Lord for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalm 118:29

I will run the way of thy commandments when thou shall enlarge my heart. Psalm 119: 32

Let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even thy salvation, according to thy word. Psalm 119:41

Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite. Psalm 147:5

Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God: Psalm 147:7

The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it and is safe. Proverbs 18:10
