Faith Filled Friday: 15 Verses for When You Feel Fearful and Afraid

March 27, 2020

There are times in our lives when we are filled with worry, fear and dread. It is a relief to have Jesus and our Bibles to turn to when we feel like the world is crashing around us.
There are so many verses in the Bible that provide comfort, reassurance, and peace. The Lord must have known we would need them.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV) Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Joshua 1:9 (KJV) Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid; neither be thou dismayed, for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

Psalm 23:4 (KJV) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Psalm 27:1 (KJV) The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 56:3 (KJV) When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) (5) Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (6) In all they ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Isaiah 26:3 (KJV) Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Isaiah 41:10 (KJV) Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 43:5 (KJV) Fear thou not; for I am with thee …

John 14:27 (KJV) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, and neither let it be afraid.

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV) (6) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. (7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:13 (KJV) I can do all things through Christ which strengthenth me.

Colossians 3:15 (KJV) And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

1 Peter 4:16 (KJV) Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

1 Peter 5:7 (KJV) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

God does care about each and every one of us. I hope you found as much comfort in these verses as I did. And remember, God is available 24/7.
