Faith Filled Friday – Abiding in Christ

May 31, 2019

When we ask God to forgive our sins and invite Him into our hearts, He then dwells in us and we in Him. Naturally, the devil will still try his best to throw doubt and fears our way. These verses give us the reassurance that we always remain abiding in Jesus.

Believing He is God’s Son:
1 John 4:15 – Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
Receiving Him as Savior and Lord:
John 1:12 – But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become
the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.
Doing what God says:
1 John 3:24 – And he that keepeth His commandments dwelleth in Him, and
He in him. And hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us.”
Continuing in Faith:
1 John 2:24 – Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the
beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you,
ye also shall continue in the Son, and the in the Father.
Relating to the community of believers, Christ’s body:
John 15:12 – This is my commandment, that ye love one another as I have loved you.
Access to God through Christ:
Ephesians 3:12 – In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him

While I was looking up the verse in Ephesians, I read through the whole chapter. Ephesians 3:17-21 hit home with me, so I added those.
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filed with all the fullness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
