God’s Personal Touch

January 26, 2019

Wednesday evening was prayer meeting and the first lesson on Creation. Pastor Kevin will talk about Genesis, chapters 1-11 for the next few weeks.
I find the story of creation fascinating. God spoke everything into existence except for man. I’ve had several people tell me that they will believe in God when he can make a rock too heavy for him to pick up. Where’s the sense in that? They don’t think the sun was enough. Big, hot and gaseous. How easy was that to handle?
God did not have to handle everything. He spoke everything into existence with one exception. I wonder if He had to describe everything precisely or merely think it and make it so.
The exception was us humans. Genesis 2:4-7 tells us that God made Adam with his own hands from the dust of the earth and breathed life into his nostrils. How awesome is that!
I think that’s why when there are times we want something but don’t know what it is, we are actually missing God, craving His presence. Because of His touch, His breath of life into our bodies, we need some alone time to commune with him. Make time for God in your life. You will find a peace and comfort you cannot find anywhere else. Ask Him to forgive your sins and invite Him into your heart – today before it’s too late.
