Faith Filled Friday – Verses to Help Us Get Through our Trials

January 26, 2018

Being sick and dealing with loss is not an easy combination. Heather C. King recently did a blog, Bible Verses For Those Who Mourn, which I found very helpful. You might want to visit her site and look for verses that might help you through your own troubling times.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers. ~ Connie

Psalm 23:4 lets me know God is there to comfort me. Since I’m ill no one wants to visit and I can’t blame them. My doctor tested me for the flu and I don’t have that, but she doesn’t know exactly what I have.

Psalm 30:5 reminds me that my sadness is temporary. There are times it seems like my sorrow will last forever, but God assures me I will have joy soon.

Psalm 46:1-2 tells me that God is my refuge and strength. He will help me through my sorrow. I am not alone. I can lean on him.

Psalm 119:50 assures me that God is my comfort and He gives me life. For me that means He also gives me strength and courage to go on.

Psalm 147:3 tells me that God will heal my broken heart and bind up my sorrow.

Isaiah 53:4 is especially comforting for me. God carries our sorrows, making my burden that much easier.

Matthew 5:4 tells me I’m blessed. I believe God gave me peace that both my sister Judy and my friend Guinn received the Lord’s saving grace before they passed on.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 reminds me that I need to share God’s love and comfort with others in their times of loss or trouble.
