Faith Filled Friday: THE WONDERFUL PRESENCE OF THE LORD

November 4, 2016

This is by David A. Wood. I find it comforting to have God near me. I hope you do, too. ~ Connie

God “IS” With Us

God does not promise us that we will not have trouble, BUT He does promise to be with us IN THAT trouble! We have His Word —

“When thou passest the through the waters, I will be with thee……………”
Isaiah 43:2

Think of it – In our deepest trouble or problem – HE IS PRESENT!! The waters may roar, but they can never drown out the still small voice of our Lord. We have only to listen to hear His voice of comfort and direction.
When we call upon God in:
•    the time of trouble, He answers us
•    the time of sorrow, He is near us
•    the time of sorrow, He comforts us
•    the time of weakness, He strengthens us
•    the time of darkness, He guides us
•    the time of loneliness, He is our all present Friend

Note His promise in the New Testament, ” …..for HE hath said, I will NEVER leave thee, nor FORSAKE thee.”  (Hebrews 13:5) A “must do” memory verse for every believer.
A friend and fellow evangelist, Dr Louis Arnold, wrote this stirring poem:

WORRY NOT
Worry not about tomorrow
Nor fear the storm that may not come.
God is near in time of sorrow
Rest on Him until the race is run.

Troubled days are far outnumbered
Brighter days slip quickly by.
But we need not be encumbered,
We will reach our home at last.

Let’s make this a week when we “practice” His presence. Remember the life lesson gleamed from the front porch of Cracker Barrel restaurant  – “Worry is like a rocking chair, it will give you something to do, but it will never get you anywhere.”
