“SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE – 2014” – Jan 19

As a nurse, mother, and Born-again Christian I could never understand the need of having an abortion. Life is precious and not always convenient, but it is still something to be honored. An abortion should never be done for selfish reasons–vanity, convenience, money, school, etc. Remember, the baby has a heartbeat by 28 days, but his life started the exact moment the egg and sperm met.


“Give justice to the weak and fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.  Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”  Psalm 82:3-4

aigwebbanner_03_wA few years ago I came across a profound documentary.  This video is just the trailer for a documentary called “It’s a Girl”.[1]  The full documentary is now on Netflix.  The short little trailer is still a powerful blow to the gut.  So often, we think about the sanctity of human life from an American perspective.

That is where this documentary helped me to think about the abortion debate in a different way.  The documentary is about the “gendercide” that is currently occurring throughout the world but particularly in India and China.  Gendercide is the systematic elimination a specific gender because the other gender is determined to be preferable.  According to the “It’s a Girl”documentary, the…
