FAITH FILLED FRIDAY – STRENGTH

February 28, 2014

I thought this deserved a re-run, and yes, I know this is Thursday. Instead of being late as usual, I’m roughly 5 hours early.

I wrote this a few months back for my Writers’ Guild.

I believe in strength;
Its power to help, not to hurt.
Its power to raise one up in mind and character,
And its ability to change throughout time.

I believe in the strength
Of a newborn baby
To unconditionally love those
Who love and care for him.

I believe in the strength
Of a young child
To let his imagination take him
To fairyland, or see the wonder in a raindrop

I believe in the strength
Of a young couple, newly married,
Ready to take on a huge new world
With strengthening love.

I believe in the strength
Of the loving, middle-aged couple,
Using character, resolve, and hope
To forge a better world.

I believe in the strength
Of the elderly generations,
Faces wrinkled with age and wisdom;
Hands worn with endurance and caring.

I believe in the strength
Of my husband’s arms
To surround me with love, to lift me up
When I fall, and protect me when I’m afraid.

I believe in the strength
Of the almighty God,
Creator of the worlds, Creator of us,
Having the strength of forgiveness and boundless love.
