The Alphabet Psalm

December 10, 2013

I had never heard this before and thought I would share it now. This is from the weekly devotional the David Wood Ministries sends me.

Psalm 119:11  “Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might no sin against thee.”

All but 3 verses refer to the word of God. There are 176 verses in all. The word of God is referred to:
as the law
as the way of the Lord
as His precepts
as His statutes
as His commandments
as His righteous judgments
as His Word, and so on

This is the fascinating part. It is divided into 22 divisions of 8 verses each. The first 8 verses begin with the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, the second group with the second letter and so forth. The on-line Bible I’m using, lists the Hebrew alphabet as such:
aleph        lamed
beth        mem
gimel        nun
daleth        samech
he        ain
vau        pe
zain        tzaddi
cheth        koph
teth        resh
jod        schin
caph        tau

Jesus tells us that he is first and last letters of the Greek alphabet – “the alpha and omega” (Revelation 1:8)
The alphabet is all we need to spell every word in the dictionary.
Jesus is all we need to give total meaning to our life.

If you have Jesus in your heart, you have everything you need for your earthly journey.

Read your Bible daily. Hide His word in your heart. See what wonderful changes in your life will be made.
